It's said that when the fox is overhung, he turns towards the town, but when Mian is stingy, his Mrs. orders him mangoes. The real name of Mian Kanjus was Hamid Khan, He was called'Mian Kanjus'because of his cheapness. 

 Well, Mian Kanjus heeded to the order, also with great courage he took out some moneybags from his box and with great pomp put it in his fund and went to the call. 

 First he went to a mango farmer and plant out the price, also he plant out one and a partial hundred rupees a kilo. 

 On hearing this, the mango farmer replied"If you want to get cheaper than this, go ahead."

Mian Kanjus incontinently stepped forward. When he went ahead and inquired about the price, he plant out that the mango was only one hundred and fifty rupees a kilo. 

"Such a great commodity won't be plant cheap," said the mango farmer. 

 Now Mian Kanjus approached another mango farmer. The condition of the mangoes was conspicuous. 

 Mian Kanjus asked"Brother, have you given me a kilo?"

The mango farmer replied"The cheapest. 

 Only eighty rupees a kilo.” 

 Mian Kanjus got irked with wrathfulness and said"Such a bad mango for eighty rupees a kilo." Break from there 

 Mian Kanjus was veritably happy to hear this and ran to the well and jumped up and started breaking mangoes. Suddenly his bottom slipped and Mian Kanjus fell into the well. As soon as the niggard fell, he got up, shook his clothes, picked up the mangoes lying in the well and began to fill them in the swing, but when he looked up, he was veritably upset about how to get out of the well. 

As soon as this study came, Mian started surcharging and running. 

 At that moment a steed- drawn carriage passed by. When he heard these voices and saw Mian Kanjus in the well, he took pity on him and he pulled out the rope of his steed- drawn carriage and hung it inside the well and held the rope forcefully from over.He said, "Let's tie the rope."

 Mian Kanjus did the same, but he'd just climbed a little when the horsewoman couldn't bear his weight and fell into the well with a thud and Mian Kanjus started running in the well again disturbed.

 Also started running. 

 abruptly the holder of the mango tree passed there. He noted it and questioned in wonderment,"What are you two going in the well?"

 The holder told"If you offer me two hundred rupees, I'll maintain you out."

On hearing this, Mian Kanjus made four pledges and when both were thrown out by the proprietor, Mian Kanjus forcefully gave two hundred notes to the proprietor and returned home empty handed. 

کہا جاتا ہے کہ جب لومڑی کو خطرہ ہوتا ہے تو وہ شہر کا رخ کرتا ہے لیکن جب میاں بخل کرتے ہیں تو ان کی بیوی اسے آم منگواتی ہے۔ میاں کنجوس کا اصل نام حامد خان تھا، بخل کی وجہ سے انہیں میاں کنجوس کہا جاتا تھا۔

خیر میاں کنجوس نے حکم سن لیا، پھر بڑی ہمت کے ساتھ اپنے ڈبے سے کچھ پیسے نکالے اور بڑی شان سے جیب میں ڈالے اور بازار چلا گیا۔

پہلے وہ ایک آم کے کاشتکار کے پاس گیا اور اس کی قیمت معلوم کی، پھر اسے ڈیڑھ سو روپے کلو معلوم ہوا۔

یہ سن کر آم کے کاشتکار نے جواب دیا: ’’اگر تم اس سے سستا حاصل کرنا چاہتے ہو تو آگے بڑھو‘‘۔

میاں کنجوس فوراً آگے بڑھے۔ اس نے آگے بڑھ کر قیمت دریافت کی تو معلوم ہوا کہ آم صرف ڈیڑھ سو روپے کلو ہے۔ ۔

آم کے کاشتکار نے کہا، "اتنی بڑی شے سستی نہیں ملے گی۔"

اب میاں کنجوس نے آم کے ایک اور کاشتکار سے رابطہ کیا۔ آموں کی حالت قابل دید تھی۔

میاں کنجوس نے پوچھا: بھائی آپ نے مجھے ایک کلو دیا ہے؟

آم کے کاشتکار نے جواب دیا: "سب سے سستا۔

صرف اسی روپے کلو۔ "

میاں کنجوس غصے سے جھنجھلا کر بولے: "اتنا خراب آم اسی روپے کلو۔" وہاں سے توڑ دو

میاں کنجوس یہ سن کر بہت خوش ہوا اور کنویں کی طرف بھاگا اور چھلانگ لگا کر آم توڑنے لگا۔ اچانک اس کا پاؤں پھسل گیا اور میاں کنجوس کنویں میں گر گئے۔ کنجوس کے گرتے ہی وہ اٹھا، کپڑے جھاڑ کر کنویں میں پڑے آم اٹھا کر جھولی میں بھرنے لگا، لیکن جب اس نے نظر اٹھا کر دیکھا تو بہت پریشان تھا کہ کنویں سے کیسے نکلے۔ .

یہ خیال آتے ہی میاں نے ڈنک مارنا شروع کر دیا۔

اسی وقت ایک گھوڑا گاڑی وہاں سے گزری۔ جب اس نے یہ آوازیں سنی اور میاں کنجوس کو کنویں میں دیکھا تو اسے اس پر ترس آیا اور اس نے اپنی گھوڑا گاڑی کی رسی نکال کر کنویں کے اندر لٹکا دی اور اوپر سے رسی کو مضبوطی سے پکڑ لیا۔ اس نے کہا آؤ رسی پکڑو۔

میاں کنجوس نے بھی ایسا ہی کیا لیکن وہ ابھی تھوڑا چڑھا ہی تھا کہ گھڑ سوار اپنا وزن برداشت نہ کر سکا اور ایک زور سے کنویں میں گر گیا اور میاں کنجوس پریشان ہو کر دوبارہ کنویں میں بھاگنے لگا۔ دوڑنا بھی شروع کر دیا۔

اچانک آم کے درخت کا مالک وہاں پہنچ گیا۔ اس نے اسے دیکھا اور حیرت سے پوچھا کہ تم دونوں کنویں میں کیا کر رہے ہو؟

مالک نے کہا: "اگر تم مجھے دو سو روپے دو تو میں تمہیں نکال دوں گا۔"

یہ سن کر میاں کنجوس نے چار وعدے کیے اور جب دونوں کو مالک نے باہر پھینک دیا تو میاں کنجوس نے زبردستی دو سو کا نوٹ مالک کو دیا اور خالی ہاتھ گھر واپس آگئے۔
