Once upon a time there were many pigeons living in the forest. One day they went out in search of food. They flew far away but found nothing to eat. They were all very tired now.

A young pigeon asked the pigeon king, "Maharaja, allow us some rest."

The king replied, "Have courage, my dear young man. We will get food very soon."

The young dove began to flutter its wings and soon left everyone behind.

After a while he turned around and said to the others, "Hey, I see a lot of grains there."

Hearing this, all the pigeons started running towards the rice scattered under the banyan tree. Suddenly the Pigeon King said, "It's very good to be true, something is wrong. Don't run towards the grain. It could be a trick. A hunter must have set a trap."

After a while several rats came and started scratching the net, they scratched all the wires of the net. Soon the rats released the pigeons. The dove thanked the rats and flew to its nest.

کبوتر بادشاہ نے کہا کہ میں نے پہلے بھی کہا تھا کہ یہ کسی شکاری کی چال ہے۔ ان سب نے شرمندگی اور خوف محسوس کیا۔

تو بادشاہ کبوتر نے کہا، "آپ سب کو متحد ہو کر جال کے ساتھ اڑنے کی کوشش کرنی چاہیے۔"

تبھی انہوں نے ایک شکاری کو اپنی طرف آتے دیکھا۔ کبوتر بادشاہ نے کہا اب تم سب مل کر اڑو۔

چنانچہ تمام کبوتر اپنے پروں کو پھڑپھڑا کر جال کے ساتھ اڑ گئے۔ شکاری چونک کر کھڑا تھا۔ اسے یقین نہیں آرہا تھا کہ اس نے ابھی کیا دیکھا تھا۔

کچھ دیر بعد کئی چوہے آئے اور جال کو نوچنا شروع کر دیا، انہوں نے جال کے تمام تاروں کو نوچ لیا۔ جلد ہی چوہوں نے کبوتروں کو آزاد کر دیا۔ کبوتر نے چوہوں کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور اپنے گھونسلوں کی طرف اڑ گئے۔
