Once upon a time there was a very poor laundress in a village. Along with washing clothes, he was very fond of looking at the sky. He and his wife used to go to the laundry every day to wash clothes.

One day while his wife was teaching clothes, his eyes fell on the sky. He saw an elephant flying from the sky to land. As soon as he landed on the ground he disappeared. For two or three days. They both watched the elephant descend to the ground.

They decided that tomorrow they would keep an eye on the elephant as it descends to the ground and then disappears. Why is that?

The next day, both of them started waiting for this elephant. They started looking at the sky again and again.

At last they saw an elephant descending from the sky to the earth.

The two of them followed him and the elephant entered the sugarcane fields and started eating sugarcane with full stomach.

The elephant's stomach filled up and he started preparing to fly. As he flew, both the husband and wife grabbed the elephant's tail and started flying with the elephant.

When the elephant reached the heights of the sky, Dhobi saw a mountain shining with diamond and gold jewels. It was as if someone had left his treasure here and forgotten.

The couple's eyes were wide open. At last the elephant landed on the mountain.

The couple ran away and fell asleep and tried to collect as much gold as possible. They were disturbed by the growing darkness of the night. It was morning and he did the same.

They landed and headed for their home.

Seeing a poor laundress who was getting richer day by day, the whole village was shocked and upset that all of a sudden it happened that the laundress has become so rich.

The people of the village came to Dhobi and started asking him the secret of his sudden becoming rich.

Dhobi would not tell them anything. One day Dhobi went out of town for some work.

When Dhobi came back at night, Dhoban told the whole story.

Dhobi was very angry at his wife's action, but now the matter was out of hand. After hearing this, greed arose in Dhobi's heart that he would go with them and collect the treasure.

Thinking this, he agreed to go with them. The next morning all the villagers went out to the fields and their eyes were fixed on the sky. The elephant landed on the ground and began to eat sugarcane. All the villagers were waiting The elephant will finish eating sugarcane, then everyone will grab its tail and reach this treasure.

As soon as the elephant started flying, everyone grabbed his tail.

All the villagers started talking to each other that there would be so much treasure that we would all be able to bring it.

One of the villagers asked, "How much gold is there?" Dhobi walked with the villagers in greed for treasure. The elephant fell and began to fly in the sky with pleasure and the villagers were punished for their greed.

اگلے دن وہ دونوں اس ہاتھی کا انتظار کرنے لگے۔ وہ بار بار آسمان کی طرف دیکھنے لگے۔

آخر کار انہوں نے ایک ہاتھی کو آسمان سے زمین پر اترتے دیکھا۔

وہ دونوں اس کا پیچھا کرنے لگے اور ہاتھی گنے کے کھیتوں میں گھس گیا اور پیٹ بھر کر گنے کھانے لگا۔

ہاتھی کا پیٹ بھر گیا اور وہ اڑنے کی تیاری کرنے لگا۔ اُڑتے ہی میاں بیوی دونوں نے ہاتھی کی دم پکڑی اور ہاتھی کے ساتھ اڑنے لگے۔

جب ہاتھی آسمان کی بلندیوں پر پہنچا تو دھوبی نے دیکھا کہ ایک پہاڑ ہیرے اور سونے کے جواہرات سے جگمگا رہا ہے۔ ایسا لگتا تھا جیسے کوئی اپنا خزانہ یہاں چھوڑ کر بھول گیا ہو۔

جوڑے کی آنکھیں کھلی کی کھلی رہ گئیں۔ آخر کار ہاتھی پہاڑ پر اترا۔

جوڑا بھاگ کر سو گیا اور زیادہ سے زیادہ سونا جمع کرنے کی کوشش کی۔ وہ رات کی بڑھتی ہوئی تاریکی سے پریشان تھے۔ صبح ہوئی اور اس نے بھی ایسا ہی کیا۔

وہ اترے اور اپنے گھر کی طرف چل پڑے۔

ایک غریب لانڈری کو دیکھ کر جو دن بدن امیر تر ہوتا جا رہا تھا، سارا گاؤں حیران اور پریشان ہو گیا کہ اچانک ایسا ہوا کہ دھوبی اس قدر امیر ہو گئی ہے۔

گاؤں کے لوگ دھوبی کے پاس آئے اور اس سے اس کے اچانک امیر ہونے کا راز پوچھنے لگے۔

دھوبی انہیں کچھ نہ کہتا۔ ایک دن دھوبی کسی کام سے شہر سے باہر گیا۔

رات کو دھوبی واپس آیا تو دھوبن نے ساری کہانی سنائی۔

دھوبی کو بیوی کی اس حرکت پر بہت غصہ آیا لیکن اب معاملہ ہاتھ سے نکل چکا تھا۔ یہ سن کر دھوبی کے دل میں لالچ پیدا ہوئی کہ وہ ان کے ساتھ جا کر خزانہ جمع کرے گا۔

یہ سوچ کر وہ ان کے ساتھ جانے کو تیار ہو گیا۔ اگلی صبح سب گاؤں والے کھیتوں میں نکلے اور ان کی نظریں آسمان پر جمی ہوئی تھیں۔ ہاتھی زمین پر گرا اور گنے کھانے لگا۔ سارے گاؤں والے انتظار کر رہے تھے کہ ہاتھی گنے کھا کر ختم ہو جائے گا، پھر سب اس کی دم پکڑ کر اس خزانے تک پہنچ جائیں گے۔

جیسے ہی ہاتھی اڑنے لگا، سب نے اس کی دم پکڑ لی۔

تمام گاؤں والے آپس میں باتیں کرنے لگے کہ اتنا خزانہ ہوگا کہ ہم سب اسے لا سکیں گے۔
